Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP) focuses on high-tech industries including precision machinery,optoelectronics, biotechnology and semiconductor.Its location between the sea and mountains and between Taichung County and Taichung City make for a diverse and complex context in terms of environmental resources and administrative coordination. Therefore,the developmental framework of the adjacent urban
areas should help strike a balance between development
and conservation to create an area friendly to ecology,
production and lifestyle while fusing humanities with
technology. The planning of the Special CTSP District is
aimed at exactly that, with the goals of integrating land resources and completing the area’s urban functions.
The implemented of plan will coincide with the development schedule of the CTSP, strengthening Taichung’s high-tech competitiveness while preserving the local ecology and culture. It will provide the necessary ancillary services, as well as reserving land for business,
residential and recreational facilities. Thus, it will satisfy the daily needs of those working and living in the CTSP and create a quality living space and technology hub.
